Tap to Pay lets you accept in-person, contactless donations directly through the Ideali app — no card reader, terminal, or extra hardware required. With Tap to Pay, your compatible smartphone becomes a secure donation terminal. A supporter simply holds their contactless credit or debit card, or their phone’s digital wallet (like Apple Pay or Google Pay), near your device, and the donation is processed instantly.

When to Use Tap to Pay

Tap to Pay is ideal for:

• Door-to-door or street fundraising
• Any moment when a supporter wants to give on the spot but doesn’t have cash

How It Works

1. Connect — Your Ideali account is linked to a campaign with payouts enabled to your bank account.
2. Enter an amount — In the app, open Tap to Pay and enter the donation amount for the campaign you’re collecting for.
3. Tap — Ask the donor to tap their card or digital wallet on the back of your phone.
4. Confirm — The transaction is processed and a confirmation appears on screen; the donor can be sent a receipt.
5. Track — The donation is automatically added to your campaign dashboard alongside your other donations.

Device Requirements

Tap to Pay uses your device’s built-in Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.

• iPhone: iOS 16.6 or later, on an iPhone XS or newer (A12 Bionic chip or later)
• Android: a device with NFC support

No external card reader or additional hardware is needed on either platform.

Is It Secure?

Yes. Tap to Pay donations are processed through Ideali’s PCI-compliant payment infrastructure. Card details are encrypted in transit and are never stored on your device.
